We aim to support a programme which
recognises the issues affecting children and young people
(including previous exposure to traumatic events).
Our service works closely with the
child/young persons residential placement and other
professionals involved in their care to ensure the service
provided assists the child/young person and is `tailor made’ to
meet their needs.
What our programme offers:
CBT Assessment
- this may be conducted over 3 to 6 individual sessions
(approximately 1 hour duration) -each session provides an
opportunity for the child/young person to establish a
therapeutic relationship with their therapist and identify
current problems, levels of motivation and any potential goals
of treatment. An Assessment report will be produced following
this process by the therapist and will include any
recommendations for CBT treatment, provisional length of
treatment, goals/ outcomes of therapy and appropriateness of
CBT.
CBT Treatment
– Sessions will be conducted on an agreed timescale (once per
week of approximately 50 minute duration per session). Interim
and end of treatment reviews with the child/young person will be
undertaken and reports provided.
EMDR Assessment
- This may be conducted over 3 individual sessions
(approximately 1.5 hours duration each session) and provides an
opportunity for the child/young person to establish a
therapeutic relationship with their therapist and identify
current problems, levels of motivation and any potential goals
of treatment. An Assessment report will be produced following
this process by the therapist and will include any
recommendations for EMDR treatment, provisional length of
treatment, goals/outcomes of therapy and appropriateness of
EMDR. An assessment and course of CBT treatment may be
appropriate for some clients prior to engaging in EMDR
treatment.
EMDR Treatment
- Sessions would usually be conducted on an agreed timescale
(once per week of approximately 1.5 hours duration per session).
