AIM
To assist participants in developing their skills and practice
of clinical casework supervision. Learners will be encouraged to
work in an ethical way which matches their levels of competence,
under appropriate supervision guidance, with supervisees in the
health and social care sectors.
CONTENT OF THE
COURSE
The course will include the following:
• Evidence based knowledge and understanding of the theory and
practice of supervision – consideration of a range of models of
supervision including Shohet & Hawkins, Padesky etc.
• Development of appropriate skills in supervision
Development of their own model of supervision
• Development of Reflective Practice
• Consideration of working with supervisees from diverse
backgrounds
Review Processes
• Measuring Effectiveness and Outcomes of supervision
• Ethical and legal issues
COURSE STRUCTURE
The Advanced Certificate in Clinical
Casework Supervision is a 10 day modular programme. It
includes the 2 day Primary Certificate.
This course is appropriate for
participants attending from a range of professional
backgrounds or therapeutic approaches.
Teaching will include lectures, seminars, skills
workshops, individual and small group coaching and
additional home study.
The Centre is a recognised Centre of the Open College
Network (North West) and the course is accredited by the OCN
(6 credits @ Level 3 NOCN CODE: PK23WR001 Clinical Casework
Supervision Practitioner).
All students will receive a Course Handbook on commencement
of the course, along with support material etc.

COURSE FEES
The following is the
cost for the course:
Course fees will
include Open College Network registration, Certification and
Administrative costs.
This course is
eligible for a Career Development Loan (Learning
and Skills Council) subject to approval. Further details
available from your bank.
Self-funding
applicants may arrange to pay the course fee over 5 modules of
the course. Please mention this in your application and attach a
cheque for £100.00 as deposit made out to Manchester Centre for
CBT Ltd.
