About Us

MCCBT Associate Therapists are experienced therapists, qualified psychotherapy practitioners and have a background in either Social Work, Nursing, Psychology or Counselling. All therapists associated with the Centre are independent practitioners with appropriate professional membership.

Keith Chadwick

Director

 

Keith Chadwick is a CBT therapist, Supervisor and Trainer with over twenty years experience of working with a wide range of customers including NHS, Local Authorities, Public and Voluntary sectors.  Keith is MBACP Senior Accredited Supervisor and CBT Psychotherapist, UKRCP and was an Honorary Faculty/Research Fellow at Manchester University (2001-2009), an External Examiner at University of East Anglia (2004-2007) and currently an Associate Lecturer (Social Work), Manchester Metropolitan University. He is the author of several publications including `Creating Confidence at Work’ (Audio Book 2009).

 

Catherine Wimpeney

BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist & EMDR Therapist

 

I am experienced in the assessment and treatment of a range of common mental health problems including Depression, and Anxiety related disorders such as GAD, Panic Disorder [with or without agoraphobia] Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and OCD. I have experience of treating people who are facing major life adjustments for example through bereavement, redundancy, retirement or ill health.
I have several years experience of working in the area of weight management using an evidence based CBT approach. I also specialise in weight related disorders such as Obesity, Anorexia Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder and Bulimia.

 

Glenda Taylor

CBT Therapist

 

My counseling and psychotherapy experience has been gained in a forensic setting and in an occupational health setting. I have worked with individuals who suffer from complex and enduring mental health problems, and those with short-term problems.
I value all clients as unique individuals and am able to engage in time limited and longer term therapeutic work in order to facilitate clients to find suitable solutions and to achieve their goals. My areas of interest include PTSD/Trauma, weight management, anxiety, depression, self harm and historical sexual abuse. I have experience of working with children/young people (including Looked After Children) and adults.

 

Dr Styliani Gkika

BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist

 

I have experience in face-to-face and phone cognitive psychotherapy with people suffering from anxiety disorders (such as, generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder) and depression. Furthermore, I have experience in working with problems of low self-esteem.


I am accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) since 2007, and a graduate member of the British Psychological Association (BPS). As an accredited member of the BABCP, I work within their Guidelines of Conduct, Performance, and Ethics. I am currently working towards my re-accreditation as a practitioner (due in 2012) and I receive regular supervision for clinical practice by BABCP accredited supervisors.
Additionally, since October 2009, I teach and supervise trainees at a postgraduate course in cognitive-behavioural therapy at the University of Bolton.
